Bad Beat Jackpot
Getting a ridiculous bad beat at Carbon Poker means that it's your lucky day. With the Bad Beat Jackpot currently around $550,000, this is one place where you are going to want to lose now and then.
How to Hit the Bad Beat Jackpot
Remember that you need to be playing at one of the many bad beat tables to hit the jackpot. You must be holding at least four sevens and hope that your opponent beats you. Your hand must include both hole cards and the winning hand has to be at least quad eights.
As well as the hand having to generate rake—which it should with two players holding great hands—there also has to be a minimum of four players starting the hand. The hand has to go to a showdown and when it does, you have hit the jackpot.
The bad beat jackpot grows as a small amount of the rake from players at the bad beat tables is added to it with each hand. The jackpot steadily grows until it's hit.
Payout Structure
When it's hit, every active player at the table gets a chunk of cash, with the player holding the losing hand taking home the larger percentage. The payout of the jackpot is:
- 35% to the losing player
- 17.5% to the unlucky player who wins the hand
- 17.5% shared among the other active players at the table
- The rest goes to seed the next jackpot.
It's a whole lot of fun at the bad beat tables where getting four of a kind and losing the hand can pay off big time.
